Ghana moves up FIFA ranking

The Black StarsGhana moved up one place in FIFA’s latest ranking and is now ranked 23rd best in the world and second in Africa, but that is also six places behind Cote d’Ivoire, the continent’s best which sits at 17th.

The FIFA/Coca-Cola ranking released Thursday has Spain at the apex of world football, followed by Germany, Argentina, Columbia, Belgium and Uruguay in that order.  

Third on the African front is Algeria at 32, followed in that order by Nigeria (33), Mali (41), Cape Verde (42), Tunisia (47), Egypt (51), Burkina Faso (52), Cameroon (59), Libya (61) and South Africa (61).
