Feyenoord close to premiership return

Former premiership side Gomoah Fetteh Feyenoord inched closer to a return to top flight football when they defeated Gold Stars 2-1 at the Tema Sports Stadium last Tuesday.

This is the second straight victory for the Gomoah lads who now sit on top of Zone II with six points in their middle league play-offs.

By this victory, Feyenoord need, at least, a draw in their last game to secure entry to the premiership next season.

Dunkwa United ended any hopes held by Eleven Wise as they beat the former elite campaigners 4-2 at the Accra Stadium in the other group match.

In the Zone III matches, two of the former premiership sides, Tema Youth and Great Olympics, both won their matches to set up a thrilling final that would decide the qualifying team.

Tema Youth have, thus, climbed to the top of the table after beating Istanbul 3-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium with goals coming from Issah Huzeifa, Bright Adjei and Jonah Osabutey.

Olympics, on the other hand, pipped Okwawu United 1-0 at the Len Clay Stadium to shatter their dreams of making it to the premeirship next season.
