King Faisal founder, Alhaji Karim Gruzah, is said to have rejected offers from the Ghana Football Association to dissuade him from continuing his legal pursuit, insisting that his club be allowed to compete in the Premier League.
This unyielding posture has left the local football authority in a quagmire with no option but to follow the Faisal owner to court.
Last Sunday, the FA’s attorney, Thaddeus Sory, met with the Faisal boss and his legal representative, Egbert Fabille Jnr. in a desperate bid to seek an amicable settlement of an impasse that has stalled the commencement of the Premier League.
Alhaji Gruzah confirmed that both parties would be heading for court on November 14.
However, Graphic Sports sources indicated that the FA’s tempting offers, including a lucrative financial package, and other inducements that would secure Faisal’s quick return to the premiership, were turned down by the club’s owner.
Efforts to reach officials of the GFA for a reaction proved futile as they avoided calls from the Graphic Sports.
Faisal are challenging their relegation from the Premier League after claiming Aduana Stars failed to pay a fine which they incurred from a protest in which they lost against Accra Hearts of Oak last season.
By the FA’s Statute, any club that fails to pay their fine within 14 days would forfeit points from matches played afterwards and Faisal have, therefore, asked the GFA apply that statute by deducting points from Aduana Stars' for breach of the statute.
