Faisal appoint Paulette as head coach

King Faisal have appointed Carlos Roberto Paulette as their new coach after agreeing terms with the Peruvian.

Paulette was in charge of relegated Real Tamale United (RTU) during their disastrous campaign in the Glo Premier League last season and will be expected to bring his experience to bear on the Kumasi-based side by guiding the club to a respectable position in the upcoming Premier League.

Akomeah Sakyi Boateng, Public Relations Manager of Faisal, told GNA Sports yesterday that the club had agreed on terms with the Peruvian to assume the technical reins of the club.

He explained the signing of the contract had been delayed due to the absence of Faisal founder Alhaji Karim Gruzah, who is on a working visit abroad.

The two parties will, however, finalise the deal by signing a contract next week to officially commit him to the job.

He said the recruitment of Paulette had become necessary as the interim head coach, Mallam Yahaya, lacked the requisite credentials to handle the team, following a recent resolution by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to allow only Confederation of African Football (CAF) Licence ‘A’ holders to handle clubs in the elite division.

Former Black Stars player Yahaya  has, therefore been demoted to the position of deputy to the Peruvian.

Paulette, an expert in juvenile football development, has had stints in England and other European countries.
