Former AC Milan player Zvonimir Boban has launched a stinging attack on the Milan side, stating that Essien should never have been signed.
The Croatian singled our Mario Balotelli, Michael Essien, Robinho and Mexes for criticism after Ac Milan lost 4-2 to Parma.
Boban said: “The signings of Essien and Taarabt? I don’t know Taarabt. Milan shouldn’t have signed Essiesn – it was mistake. They don’t need him. He hasn’t played much recently and there is a reason for that. He is nowhere near the first Essien we saw at Chelsea.”
“Montolivo should have played next to De Jong instead of Essien. Essien is more of a mezz’ala than a playmaker.
He hasn’t been playing for a long time, and he just arrived at the club, so I would have used Poli or Montolivo who were on the bench.”
