Ghana and AC Milan midfielder, Michael Essien is out injured with a thigh injury, his club has announced.
The 31-year-old is set to “'undergo further tests in around 10 days' time'' to determine the extent of the injury, the Seria A side stated.
Essien, who was expected to fill in for injured Sulley Muntari in AC Milan's central midfield, will now miss the side's match Genoa on Monday and probably the home match against Catania next weekend.
The former Chelsea star has made six appearances for Milan since joining in January from the Stamford Bridge.
