The Confederation of African Football has upheld the decision by the organising committee of the African Under-17 Championship to suspend Ghana’s Black Starlets from playing in the tournament.
The Ghana Football Association recently filed an appeal to challenge CAF’s decision to ban the Starlets from the championship in Niger, following a protest by Cameroun disputing the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) tests of some Starlets players.
Yesterday, the FA issued a press release confirming receipt of the decision by CAF’s Appeal Board, which also confirmed the qualification of Cameroun to continental championship.
The suspension of the Starlets may be appealed at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in switzerland within 10 days of the decision by CAF Appeal Board.
Meanwhile, the GFA Executive Committee will meet today to deliberate on the issue and consider the FA’s next line of action.
