A strong contingent of Black Stars players, officials and journalists jetted into Kampala early this morning for Saturday’s penultimate AFCON 2015 Group E battle against the Cranes of Uganda at the Mandela National Stadium.
The contingent, led by Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi, comprised 24 players, 10 technical men, six FA officials and a few club administrators and journalists who stormed the Entebbe Airport on board an Asky Airlines chartered flight.
The flight departed the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) at 9.30pm on Thursday night and landed safely at Entebbe after a smooth 4 hours 45 minutes journey.
However, it took the team almost two hours to travel from the airport to their hotel in downtown Kampala due to heavy traffic during the rush hour between 6am and 8am.
This was after all members of the contingent had been subjected to thorough Ebola screening by Uganda medical personnel as part of the immigration formalities at the airport.
The team was accompanied by the Stars skipper though he will not be available for selection in tomorrow's game due to injury.
In his absence, Andre Dede Ayew, will for the first time lead the senior national team for the important assignment.
The Stars will have their mandatory training session at the match venue at 4pm local time (1pm Ghana time) today under caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu.
Kick-off time for tomorrow's match is 1pm Ghana time.
