Asante retains B/A FA seat

INCUMBENT Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association Chairman, Augustine Asante, was yesterday retained for another term on the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association at the Brong Ahafo RFA election.

The election was tipped to be a close fight between the incumbent and his challenger, Ralph Gyamera, but in the end Mr Asante polled 103 votes against Mr Gyamera’s 76.

While Mr Asante had to go through moments of apprehension before his victory, his counterparts in the Ashanti and Eastern regions had no such problems as Osei Tutu Agyeman and Abdul Ganiyu Lawal were retained by popular acclamation in their respective regions.

Tomorrow, it will be the turn of the Western, Central, Greater Accra and Volta regions in the voting process where all the incumbents but Kojo Yankah for Western Region are being challenged.

In Accra, Nii Komiete Doku is being challenged by Eugene Jacquaye, while Francis Dogbatse faces Mawutor Agbavitor, with Roy Arthur challenging M.N.S  Doe in the Central Region.
