Akaminko’s injury to take 4 months

Black Stars player Jerry Akaminko will not be coming back to the field anytime soon.

According to the Star’s team doctor, Dr Adam Baba, the player would need about three to four months to fully recover depending on his rehabilitation programme.

Akaminko suffered a bad injury during the friendly football encounter against the Netherlands on Saturday.

He landed awkwardly in an aerial challenge in the 90th minute

Dr Baba explained that, a plain X-ray conducted on the player revealed a fracture in the left ankle joint.

The Turkey-based defender even though ruled out of the mundial is currently with the squad in the USA as he prepares to undergo surgery on the fractured left ankle.
