Black Stars coach, Avram Grant, las Sunday performed his first pruning down of the 33-man provisional list for AFCON 2015 taking 26 for his training camp in the Spanish city of Seville.
Twenty-three out of the 26-man squad left Accra last night for Seville after a week’s non-residential camping involving 31 players mainly foreign-based rotating the training base between Lizzy Sports Complex, owned by former Ghanaian-born French soccer legend, Marcel Desailly, and the Alhaji Sly Tetteh Park at Dansoman in Accra.
The first five players who were chopped off from the list were local based goalkeeper Stephen Adams, Mahatma Otoo, a leading striker of Songdal, Norway, who was a last minute addition at the behest of Coach Grant, Swiss-based young striker Ebenezer Assifuah, who plies his trade with SC Sion, Enoch Adu Kofi (Allsvenkan, Malmo) and Albert Adomah (Middlesbrough, England).
Among those who made the trip were two goalkeepers, Ernest Sowah (CS Don Bosco, Congo DR), Fatua Dauda (Ashgold).

A Ghana Football Association source told the Graphic Sports yesterday shortly after the departure that three players, Jeffery Schlupp (Leicester City, England), Andre Dede Ayew (Olympic Marseille, France) and Razak Barimah, the Spain-based goalkeeper, would join the team in Seville.
