Pacquiao retires in style

Manny Pacquiao claimed the WBO International welterweight title in what may be his final fight, beating Timothy Bradley at MGM Grand last Saturday. The Filipino veteran twice knocked down American Bradley in what was the third bout between the pair, winning by a unanimous decision.

After a slow start, Pacquiao dominated most rounds and eventually prevailed – all three judges scoring it 116-110 in his favour.

This fight is expected to be the last of Pacquiao's fine career and he improved to 58-6-2, while Bradley is now 33-2-1.

Both of Bradley's losses have been inflicted by Pacquiao, who also won via a unanimous decision in April 2014.

The fight came to life in round three, Pacquiao landing a left hand as the duo started to open up.

Pacquiao was on top in the fourth round with quick bursts, and he also owned the fifth as he took control.

The 37-year-old turned that into a knockdown in the seventh, landing a right hook that sent Bradley sprawling.

Bradley's response was strong and he won the eighth round as he had Pacquiao on the back foot, but a second knockdown followed in the ninth.
