Ghana holds remembrance service for Nii Cofie Adjenkwa III
Hundreds of boxing enthusiasts, family members , as well as friends and sympathisers of the late J. Allotei-Cofie (a.k.a Nii Cofie Adjenkwa III) clad in black and white funeral dresses converged at the Ridge Church in Accra last Thursday to observe his remembrance service.

The service, which was organized by the children and grand children of the deceased saw dignitaries from the Methodist Church UK Jake Obetsebi Lamptey and some Ga chiefs in solemn mood
The late Nii Cofie Adjenkwa who served as an administrator at Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) for decades ,was also the life time vice president of the World Boxing Council (WBC)
It was during his time that Ghana produced world class boxers such as David Kotei Poison, Azumah Nelson and Ike Quartey among others..
A tribute read on behalf of the President of the World Boxing Council Mr. Mauricio Sulaiman also described the deceased as competent and relevant to the WBC.
For his part, the MP for Ablekuma South, Hon. Fritz Baffour in a tribute, described Nii Adjenkwa as a man who dedicated his life to the promotion of boxing in the country, making it possible for the youth to develop keen interest in the sport.
“The late J. Allotei Coffie will forever be remembered in Ghana boxing for his vital role in shaping the career of boxing legend, Azumah Nelson, and helping him get to the zenith of his boxing career “ he noted.
