Award winning promotional syndicate, Cabic Promotions will stage three continental title fights at its Pound-4-Pound Glory boxing event on Friday, November 6, at Cleaver House in Accra, with two Ghana-Nigeria clashes adding the famed West African rivalry to the championship stakes.
The card is headlined by deaf boxer Emmanuel Mankatah Sackey against compatriot Ezekiel Annan for the vacant WBO Africa lightweight championship, while stable mate, Kofi Dana faces Nigeria’s Raimi Isiaka for the vacant WBO Africa junior middleweight title in the latest "Jollof derby."
The third title bout pits Ghanaian Jessie Lartey against Nigeria’s Samuel Opaogun for the WBA Africa Gold welterweight title, completing a triple-header designed to showcase regional talent and strengthen Ghana’s continental boxing credentials.
The peculiar Mankatah Sackey who is the flagship star of the Cabic Management stable, previously claimed the UBO Africa super featherweight title, by stopping Nigeria’s Yusuf Olalekan in the fifth round in May 2025.
Dana also enters the event, having also annexed the UBO Africa super welterweight title against another Nigerian, Sulaimon Olagbade by fourth-round technical knockout on same night back in May 2025.
Lartey, nicknamed “Water Boy”, is an experienced contender whose previous outings have included domestic and international challenges, after coming through the amateur ranks including winning Ghana’s only medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
His opponent, Opaogun previously also fought in Ghana, including a 2024 unsuccessful challenge against Faisal Abubakari for the WBO Africa junior welterweight title.
Cabic Promotions' CEO Ivan Bruce-Cudjoe, who is also aspiring to lead the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) as President in the upcoming election for key positions, has built a reputation for investing in boxers pursuing continental and world-level opportunities.
“We are embarking on a journey to fame and greatness, and we know it’s never going to be easy. But we are fully committed to producing world champions,” Bruce-Cudjoe said.
His promotional stable previously guided Patrick Allotey to the WBO Africa junior middleweight title before the Ghanaian challenged Mexico’s Jaime Munguia for the world crown in 2019. Cabic also promoted Richard Nii Lartey Harrison, the former WBO Africa heavyweight champion who later fought current heavyweight world champion Daniel Dubois in London.
The November 6 event will also feature other budding and established fight stars in highly competitive contests, with corporate tables, VIP tickets and corporate social responsibility packages also available.
The organisers are inviting boxing fans, businesses and sponsors to support the event, which is being presented as a corporate networking night alongside its championship programme.
