Banku,  an undefeated cruiserweight, went to the bank to transact business and discuss his upcoming bout against Ayitey Powers with the manager of the bank, Joseph Essien.

But soon after the 33-year-old boxer emerged at the entrance to the bank with his manager, work came to a temporary standstill as workers and customers  alike wanted to shake hands with him.

Banku responded positively and promised them that he would demolish Powers  on  April 18 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

His manager, Abraham Kotey Neequaye, who accompanied him to the mosque last  Friday to say prayers, was upbeat about his boxer’s chances.

“Banku will  demolish that guy (Ayittey Powers). He will be no match for my boxer, and the fight will not go beyond the seventh round,” he  confidently told the Graphic Sports.

Meanwhile, Banku has intensified his training regimen ahead of the bout with Powers.

When the Graphic Sports visited the training camp of Banku last Thursday at the Seconds Out Gym in Accra, the boxer was busily jabbing with his trainer Emmanuel Teiko Tagoe, alias “Akese”.

According to Akese, the boxer does over   five kilometres  of jogging at the beach every day.
