The bout, which will take place at York Hall, Bethnal Green, in London, will be Ayitey Powers’ first international bout after losing to Bukom Banku on December 26, last year in Kumasi.

Ayitey Powers, in an interview with the Graphic Sports said, he had forgotten about his loss to local rival, Bukom Banku, and was well prepared for this bout.

“It was hard for me to lose again to Banku for the second time but I have gotten well over it. I’m now ready for Allen and I hope to win convincingly”, Powers said.

Ayitey’s English opponent, Allen, who is a cruiserweight boxer, hasn’t lost in his last seven international bouts. He has a record of 15 wins, two losses with no knock-out.

When asked about his feelings and strategies to fight such an in-form boxer, Ayitey however, debunked the idea of him being the underdog as he believed he would surely win.

“I am not afraid to fight him. I know he is a very good fighter and is currently in good shape but I still have what it takes to defeat him,” Ayitey said.

“I have my own plans and strategies that I will use against him. Ghanaians should watch out and I will do my possible best to win”, he added.

Ayitey Powers will be leaving the country with Ebenezer Amandoh, who is an upcoming boxer, who will also fight his first international bout on the same day.
