After refusing to fight initially, Braimah Kamoko alias Bukom Banku has vowed to make mincemeat of fellow boxer Ayittey Powers Okine in their second bout after the latter defeated the former in their famous first bout at the Accra Sports Stadium a year ago.

At a final press conference ahead of the bout at the Accra Stadium last Tuesday, Banku returned to his old self, escorted  by a large entourage, the undefeated Bukom fighter showcased his readiness to fight with a display of shadow boxing, jump trotting and running arounds at the forecourts of the Media Centre buoyed on by his fans who sang deafening traditional tunes to goad him on.

Not too long did his opponent, Powers, arrive in a sports car embossed with his name along with his followers in a long procession of vehicles.

Before crowded fans at the Accra Stadium, both made their way to the Media Centre, followed by their supporters.

Banku told a packed crowd of journalists that his supposed refusal to fight was a strategy to wane down his opponent and he believed it worked.

“I made Ayittey Powers rekindle his boxing career once again and I would make it dwindle once more and end his career on December 26 in Kumasi”, he noted.

Powers on his part was happy Banku had rescinded his mind to fight him and promised to give him the beatings of his life.

“I would not lose to an opponent twice and Banku’s initial fears which led him to back out initially would be confirmed on December 26”, he noted to the cheering of his fans.

The Deputy CEO of sponsors JoyDadi Industries expressed satisfaction that the bout would happen and added that tickets are already out for the fight.

He stated that tickets are being sold at all sporting centres and entertainment venues including media outlets and charged fans to purchase tickets to witness a spectacle.

Promoters, Landmark Promotions, disclosed that other mouth-watering bouts would be on the bill that night including performances from music stars namely Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Efya.
