Alexander ready to stop Khan

Devon Alexander insists that Amir Khan's boxing style suits him perfectly as he sets out to prove the Bolton welterweight is "nothing special".

Khan heads into tonight's Las Vegas fight with ambitions of using victory over Alexander as a stepping stone to a shot at either Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao, but the American former two-weight world champion has other ideas.

"Khan's style is perfect for me," Alexander told Sky Sports News. "I'm going to be able to do whatever I want to do whenever I want to do it in the ring.

"He's a good fighter, but I just don't see anything special that Amir Khan does. From me you're going to see versatility, power, speed, movement — all of it. I'm going to be ready. I'm excited."

Khan believes his ability to stay with Alexander before making life uncomfortable with his superior boxing skills, particularly on the inside, will be the difference.

"There's going to come a time in the fight when I'll put pressure on him and rough him up a bit," Khan said. "I know he doesn't like that.

"We've been working with a lot of sparring partners where I've had to go in and go for the body. I don't think he likes body shots either." ESPN
