Boateng Genfi: Board of Directors did not promise to buy aeroplane for Asante Kotoko

He described the allegation as a mere fabrication and a figment of somebody's imagination calculated to tarnish the reputation of the highly-respected board members.

Mr Genfi was reacting to a story carried by an online portal, which claimed that the new 12-man board had promised to buy an aircraft for Kotoko, while quoting a recent interview granted by the board member to Graphic Sports as the source.

The publication also alleged that the board had also resolved to build a stadium for Kotoko.

However, Mr Genfi told Graphic Sports Online that those claims were totally unfounded as nothing of the sort came up during his interview with the Graphic Sports.

He noted that the false allegations which went viral over the weekend really disturbed the board members who are bent on making Kotoko great again.

"The issue really disturbed the board and I must say that such tendencies could be very discouraging," he noted.

Board chairman of Exim Bank Ghana, Mr Genfi advised the media to cross-check their facts before publishing stories about Kotoko in order to give the board the needed concentration to perform the task assigned them by the Life Patron of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

In a similar vein, Graphic Sports has dissociated itself from the said story which was attributed to it by myfabulousonline.com.

It corroborated the assertion of the Kotoko board member and placed it on record that there was no mention of a purchase of an aeroplane or the building of a stadium by the new board during the said interview.
