Black Stars to play Mali, Qatar in October

The 2022 FIFA World Cup hosts replace Equatorial Guinea who pulled out of a similar friendly match due to new travelling restrictions in the central African country in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Black Stars will first play the Eagles of Mali on October 9 before facing Qatar three days later in next month’s FIFA international window for competitive and friendly matches.

The Qataris will play against India on October 8 before meeting Charles Akonnor's team in Turkey.

Both Ghana and Qatar will use the friendly match to prepare for upcoming competitions.

Akonnor will lead his charges for Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Sudan in November

Ghana top Group F with six points following victories against South Africa in Cape Coast and Sao Tome and Principe in November 2019.
