Ashgold handed GH₵20,000 damages by court

The GFA was compelled to suspend the betpawa Premier League on September 29 after the Obuasi-based club placed an injunction on the league over the FA’s decision to demote them following a match fixing allegation.

The court held that Ashgold failed to meet two of the three legal requirements needed for them to be granted an injunction of this nature especially on the balance of convenience.

The court was of the view that when the applicant’s request was granted it will bring hardship to the GFA, all the clubs playing in the Premier League, the players, sponsors, referees, match commissioners and other service providers.
