Andre Ayew's £90,000-a-week wage stalls move to Brighton

Brighton are keen on bringing Ayew to the Amex, but according to The Sun, they are being put off by his astronomical wage packet at Swansea.

The report claims Brighton face being priced out and that a deal could only be made if Ayew can come to an agreement to have the final year of his contract at the Swans terminated so he can move to the Premier League side on a free transfer on reduced terms.

The 30-year-old Ghanaian - who scored an impressive 18 times last season - has also been attracting interest from West Brom, though they will likely have the same issue as Brighton.

Seagulls boss Graham Potter knows Ayew well from his time at Swansea and is keen to be reunited with him before Friday's domestic deadline.

Whether or not a deal can be struck in time remains to be seen but looks unlikely at present with a number of hurdles still to overcome.

Brighton want to sign another attacking player and are also understood to be looking at Danny Welbeck, who is available on a free after being released by Watford.

They are expected to face a battle for his signature with Southampton and Crystal Palace also interested.

Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard has been on Brighton's radar for some time but they will not be able to meet the Scottish champions' £30million demands.
