Work together to create opportunities — Nana Appau II

The Omanhene of Asante Bekwai, Nana Karikari Appau II, has called on Ghanaians to overcome selfishness and work together to create opportunities and bring progress.

He said everybody should find space to contribute his /her quota to make “things happen.”

The omanhene said it was time the excuses and “blame game” stopped to enable the people to focus on the fight to subdue poverty, deprivation and other indignities afflicting society.

Nana Karikari Appau was speaking at a thanksgiving service held to cerebrate 14 years of  his enthronement, a period that had been characterised by profound peace, stability and tranquility at Bekwai which had further resulted in the significant improvement in the conditions of the lives of the people.

The streets of Bekwai are in a better shape and the illumination system upgraded to enhance both economic activities and security during the night .

The anniversary comes amid intensified efforts by the omanhene to complete a multi-purpose community centre he has started which has facilities for a library and an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) laboratory.

The Bekwai paramountcy is one of the eight paramountcies in the Bekwai municipality, some of which include Esumegya, Kokofu, Adankranja, Asaaman, among others.

The omanhene called for continued cooperation, unity and profitable understanding to make room for the smooth development of the traditional area.

He appealed to the government to do everything possible to find money to complete the outstanding construction works on the Bekwai Government Hospital project.

The omanhene commended the people of the traditional area for the unity and peace, and urged them to continue leaving in peace to enhance development of the nation.

He also appealed to the people to be law abiding to ensure sanity and prevent them from coming face to face with the laws of the nation, saying the laws of the land are meant to deal with people, irrespective of one’s position, ethnic group or political affiliation.
