Veep commends Gonja chiefs, people for peaceful co-existence

 

The Vice-President, Mr Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, has commended the chiefs and people of the Gonja Traditional Area for their efforts at ensuring peace.

Mr Amissah-Arthur made the commendation when he spoke at the Damba Festival of the chiefs and people of the traditional area at Damongo on Tuesday.   

He observed that peace and stability engendered development and progress and, therefore, urged traditional authorities to complement the government’s efforts at ensuring peace in the country.

The Vice-President, who had earlier inspected progress of work on the Fufulso-Sawla road project, said as part of its continuous effort to deliver on the better Ghana agenda, the government was laying the foundation to improve the lives of the people.

Earlier on Tuesday, Vice-President Amissah-Arthur had paid a courtesy call on the Regent of Dagbon in Yendi.
