Timely release of common fund critical - MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Ano Dompreh, has called on the government to expedite action on the release of funds such as the MP’s Common Fund if developmental projects are to be carried out on time.

The MP made the appeal during a tour of some senior high schools in his constituency.

The tour was to assess the challenges facing the schools.

Speaking to Citi News, Frank Ano Dompreh noted that if funds were dispensed on time, MPs could carry out projects to help their constituents.

“We want to take this opportunity to appeal to government that the GETFund and other funds that are supposed to be paid should be paid in time...otherwise we can only appeal to corporate bodies and philanthropists to come in and help.”

He noted: “I am prepared to take part of my salary to support the school project because it is very basic and key.”

The MP added, “The Common Fund has to be paid in time so that we can embark on the second action which will have an overall effect on the schools otherwise these small inputs cannot have a lasting effect on the schools.”
