Ties between Muslims, other faiths exemplary -Dr Abu Sakara observes

Dr Abu Sakara, the 2012 presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party, has described the understanding between Muslims and other faiths in the country as unique, exemplary and one that shines like a candle in the sub- region and the world.

“Ghana can be justifiably proud of its Muslims, who, through the practice of their faith, have  given an exemplary meaning to Islam as a religion of peace  in a troubled region,” he stated.

In a statement to greet Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid–Ul–Fitr, Dr Sakara said  the Muslim faithful, after a month of prayer and fasting, had contributed immensely to the peace and tranquillity in the country.

“We, therefore, thank them for their efforts, especially in these hard times. We also pray that Almighty Allah will reward them for their devotion, dedication and duty they have rendered through their sacrifice,” he stated.

According to Dr Sakara, “It is our prayer that all of us will continue to work together to strengthen and protect this harmonious understanding which speaks volumes for our nation, our culture and our respective religious faiths.”

In his view, If we have peace, we have every reason to be hopeful that in spite of any difficulty, we shall prevail, saying “We all need to support the peace Allah has blessed our nation with after this celebration and pray for togetherness and the development of mother Ghana.”

He also prayed for a prosperous future for our youth, and long life for the Muslim and traditional leaders.
