When it comes to inclusion, Akufo-Addo has walked the talk - Bawumia to Mahama

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is urging the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama to talk about what he did when he was in office than outlining what he will do when he becomes President again.

According to Dr Bawumia, "it’s not what you say you are going to do for the poor and the deprived but what you actually have done when you had the opportunity to serve."

He said "what did you do to alleviate the suffering and the promoting of inclusion when you were in office?"

He said when it comes to inclusion, "President Akufo-Addo has walked the talk", adding that the Free Senior High School education and the Free Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) policy "is the most important social intervention since independence."

Dr Bawumia was speaking at this year's Eid-ul-Adha celebration at the premises of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in Accra on Friday, July 31, 2020.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony was done virtually.

He said both the Free SHS and the Free TVET are free to all Ghanaian children regardless of their background.

Dr Bawumia said the three years of Akufo-Addo-led government has performed far better than the four-year term of the former President John Dramani Mahama.
