His call comes after the President Friday called on Ghanaians to be patient with his government, saying the vehicle of his administration was travelling in “first gear”.

President Mahama had urged Ghanaians to wait patiently and see what accelerated economic development the country would witness when he changes speed to the fourth gear.

According to him, the government had just begun the implementation of its development agenda and that by the end of the four-year mandate, the Better Ghana Agenda would have been successfully implemented.

The comments appear not to have gone down well with Mr Pratt, who called on the President to cut down on the complaints and immediately change his administration’s speed to the fourth gear.

Speaking Tuesday on Accra-based Peace FM, Mr Pratt said Ghanaians were enduring immense hardship in the country and had every right to be impatient with the government.

He said though the President did not create all the economic problems Ghana was facing, he was, as the elected leader, responsible for fixing them.

The Insight Editor therefore called on him to work harder and faster, noting that Ghanaians were looking up to him to solve the myriad of problems plaguing the country.

“He should change [to fourth gear] quickly,” he added. (Listen to Pratt in this audio)
