SC judgement cannot break NPP -Nana Addo

Hon. Kossi Kederm President of The MP'S Forum paid a courtesy call on Nana Addo at his residenceNana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, has assured members of the party that the judgment on the presidential election petition delivered by the Supreme Court will not break the party.
The NPP, he said, would grow stronger and “even stronger from this setback.”

“This is the only political party I believe can help bring the necessary programmes and policies that can alleviate the problems we are facing as a country; there is no way this verdict will or can break this great tradition,” he said.

Nana Akufo-Addo was speaking to various groups during a series of courtesy calls on him at his residence today. The groups consisted of the Brong Ahafo, Eastern, Upper East and Northern regional constituencies of the NPP, Patriotic Volunteers, women’s wing of the Nasara Club, volunteers from Abossey-Okai and many others.

The NPP’s 2012 presidential Candidate called on the party supporters to desist from washing their dirty linen or castigating each other in public.

“We should not insult ourselves; we are all from one family. NPP is bigger than any individual,” he said.

Nana Addo reminded his party about the principles that bind them, saying “In NPP we tolerate, no single person takes decisions. If the party takes a decision to elect a leader, we all follow and support that person. That is what makes NPP strong and great.”

Executives from the Forum for former Parliamentarians, led by Mr. Kosi Kedem, had earlier called on Nana Akufo-Addo.

Mr Kosi Kedem, a former Member of Parliament for the Hohoe-South Constituency, was full of praise for Nana Akufo-Addo.

According to him, Nana Akufo-Addo’s immediate “graceful” concession after the Supreme Court verdict clearly showed a true "statesman" he is.

“Nana Akufo-Addo has indeed demonstrated a high sense of patriotism and love for peace and placed Ghana first before all other interests… History and posterity will remember and honour y Nana Addo as a man who brought peace at a certain critical time in our history,” Mr. Kosi Kedem stated.
