The Rasheediya branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the East Ayawaso constituency has commended President John Dramani Mahama for nominating the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Ayawaso, Dr Ahmed Mustapha, as Minister of State at the Presidency.
“We are so elated that the President found Dr Ahmed competent to support his pursuit of building a Better Ghana for us all,” a statement issued by the spokesperson of the group, Alhaji T.D. Sakibu, said.
It said the nomination of Dr Mustapha was a testament to the confidence reposed in the President by he electorate in the constituency, who have voted massively for the NDC since 1992.
The statement congratulated President Mahama for his victory in the election and subsequent inauguration.
It also congratulated the MP for East Ayawaso, Alhaji Naser Mahama, for winning the seat.

The statement said the group had admired President Mahama’s leadership skills and capabilities over the years, and expressed confidence that he would lead a united Ghana in an all-inclusive government.
“The Nima Rasheediya branch of the NDC sees your victory as a victory for the youth and will do anything humanly possible under the sky to support your tenure and bring development to the people of our area and Ghana as a whole,” it said.
The statement prayed to God to grant President Mahama and the MPs achievable vision, wisdom and good health.
It saluted the electorate for voting on issues and their beliefs in political parties but not on tribal lines.
The statement congratulated the electorate in the East Ayawaso constituency for the peaceful manner in which they conducted themselves before, during and after the election.
It asked religious leaders and chiefs to continue preaching peace and unity to the people to ensure continuous peace in the country.
