Prez Mahama mocks Akufo-Addo

Enthusiastic NDC supporters dressed in the party’s colours met President Mahama in cars and on motorbikes and led him to the rally ground.

The President addressed other equally big rallies at Chiraa, Nkoranza, Atebubu and Prang.

President Mahama said unlike the NPP which focused on its campaign on the proposed free SHS, the NDC had several good policies covering education, healthcare, economy, infrastructure development, housing, water and electricity.

Besides, he said, the NDC had  a good track record of performance in the areas of education, healthcare, energy and the economy.

He mentioned the construction of schools, clinics, roads and the extension of water and electricity as some of the development projects.

He stressed that the performance of the NDC in the last four years was comparable or even better than the eight years of the NPP.

President Mahama said the new NDC manifesto of ‘Advancing the Better Ghana Agenda’ had cogent programmes and projects covering education, health, roads, housing, electrification and general infrastructure development that it intended to implement to propel Ghana’s economy.

In the area of education, he said, the NDC would put up 200 community SHSs, 10 teacher training colleges, establish a university in the Eastern Region, and increase the number of beneficiaries of the school feeding programme.

He assured the people of the Brong Ahafo Region of the government’s commitment to improve the road network in the area and connect remote communities to the national grid.

President Mahama, therefore, urged the people to vote for him as their President and their respective NDC parliamentary candidates to secure a one-touch victory in the election to be able to execute the projects.

Meanwhile, President Mahama had earlier called on the Paramount Chief of the Nkoranza Traditional Area, Nana Okatakyie Kudom Agyeman IV, and the Paramount Chief of the Yeji Traditional Area, Nana Yaw Kaburese V, to seek their blessing and support.

Both chiefs commended the government for sending development projects to the area, including schools and clinics, and asked the government to improve on the roads and fix more streetlights in the respective areas.
