He believes that his client is 'absolutely innocent' in charges that he is behind the social networks distribution of what is alleged to be a photoshoped pornographic image of President John Mahama and that the suspicion against him is unfounded.

Speaking in an interview on Joy FM, Capt Effah Darteh stated that he won’t be surprised if the case turns out to be one of those 'going-and-coming, going-and-coming things.'

Omari Wadie was arrested Monday morning by operatives of the Bureau of National Investigations on suspicion he posted the nude image.

But Nkrabea Effah Darteh said that there was not much substance to support the BNI's case against his client.

Mr Omari Wadie was released lateTuesday afternoon, after nearly 40 hours in BNI custody.

Capt. Nkrabea Effah Darteh told Joy FM that he went to the BNI office early Tuesday morning to get access to his client but was asked to come back at 3pm and upon return he was told that his client had been released. He was yet to be briefed by his client but he strongly believed that Mr Wadie “is absolutely innocent.”

Asked whether or not his client could be charged and prosecuted for libel if investigations pointed out that he was responsible for doctoring and posting the said photograph, Effah Darteh explained that he could be charged and prosecuted if the investigators were able to establish through empirical evidence that notwithstanding what his client was saying, there was basis to prosecute him.
