Speaking on behalf of the council, Charlotte Osei, Chairperson of the 60th Anniversary Planning Committee, acknowledged Dr. Bawumia’s contribution, which ensured that the palace was given a much-needed facelift ahead of the celebrations. The council expressed its appreciation for his support.
In June, Dr. Bawumia, during a courtesy call on the Oguamanhene and the Oguaa Traditional Council, pledged to assist in the palace's renovation as a gift to mark Osabarima’s 25th anniversary as Oguamanhene and to celebrate the Fetu Afahye’s 60th anniversary.
Dr. Bawumia was among the dignitaries who attended the grand durbar to mark the climax of the celebration in Cape Coast on Saturday.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, also made a historic visit to Cape Coast to grace the occasion.
