NPP opens nominations for constituency elections

The Eastern Regional Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the opening of nominations for constituency executive elections.

Alhaji Omar Bodinga, Regional First Vice Chairman of the party, has asked party faithful interested in the elections to pick nomination forms at the Regional Secretariat,  in Koforidua  at the cost of GH¢20.00.

Alhaji Bodinga who made this known to Ghana News Agency  in an interview in Koforidua on Tuesday, said he had requested for additional forms from the party’s headquarters in Accra, since all the 430 forms presented to the regional secretariat had been collected.

He said it was an indication that people are becoming more interested in the NPP and therefore appealed to the party faithful to uphold the image of the party as a disciplined and united entity.

Alhaji Bodinga said so far about 90 per cent of the polling station executive elections had been completed and left with few areas in Atiwa East, and Asene-Manso constituencies where there were misunderstandings during the process.

He gave the assurance that the regional executives are  putting measures in place to resolve all those misunderstandings to pave way for the election to take place.
