The grand ceremony last Saturday attracted many dignitaries, including the Senior Minister, Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo; a founder member of the NPP in the Eastern Region, Mr Andrew Owusu; as well as some former and current Oda constituency executive members of the party.

Making the presentation, Mr Acquah, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Community Hospitals Group, advised the NPP executive members to intensify their campaigns for the party to not only retain the parliamentary seat, but also increase the presidential votes in the 2020 general election.

He said he donated the vehicle in honour of the late Alex Amankwah-Asare, then Chairman of the La Cote d’Ivoire branch of the NPP who promised to buy the Oda Constituency a pick-up vehicle this year but his untimely death about two months ago prevented him from fulfilling his promise.

Regular maintenance of the vehicle

Mr Acquah urged the constituency executive body to use the vehicle for the intended purpose and also maintain it regularly to ensure a long lifespan.

Mr Osafo-Maafo thanked Mr Acquah for the continuous material and financial assistance he had been offering the NPP and urged other well-to-do people in the society to emulate his example.

Misuse of vehicle

The senior minister cautioned the constituency executive members against misusing the vehicle, urging them to use it to reach every nook and cranny of the constituency to win more votes for the NPP in order to enhance its chances of winning the 2020 general election.

“Don’t use the vehicle to carry your girlfriends to enjoy yourself at the expense of the NPP, but use it exclusively for party work,” Mr Osafo-Maafo emphasised.

The Oda Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Mr Awudu Issaka, who received the vehicle, was full of praise for the donor and promised to use it for the intended purpose.
