He says the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has nothing more than insults and empty talk to offer the country and should be rejected at elections.

Eric Opoku was addressing teeming supporters of the NDC at the Cape Coast Stadium where the party launched its 2016 electioneering campaign.

He said apart from Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s tenure when Ghana built three public universities, it is only the NDC governments that have built extra public universities because it is convinced education is key to the nation’s future. The NPP, he said, spent eight years in government but failed to even add one public university.

Similarly, he said Jerry Rawlings when he was president, started a plan to establish a regional hospital for every region and did for Volta, Cape coast Brong Ahafo. NPP took over and for eight years added not even one.

He said John Mahama's administration is adding the Ashanti Regional Hospital, Greater Accra, Upper West and Upper East, and challenged the NPP to point to their own record of regional hospitals.
