Mr Lawrence Paa Nii Lamptey, who is seeking to contest the chairmanship of the Effutu Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged the executive to work to address all disputes and discontent within the party.

That, he argued, would ensure success in the 2016 elections.

Addressing an NDC meeting at Winneba, Mr Lamptey said, “Very soon the nation would go to the polls. Party executive must address all disputes and discontentment to prevent a “skirt and blouse” voting.”

He said situation where the electorate voted for the President but elected a member of Parliament from a different political party was the most painful experience to go through by any political party.

He, therefore, urged the executive to avoid activities which could incur the displeasure of the electorate to turn against the party.

Mr Lamptey said the executive must educate the electorate about efforts the government was making to address the challenges facing the country and appealed to Ghanaians to rally behind the President to achieve that goal.  —GNA
