NDC clears three for Saturday’s primary

The National Democratic Congress says it has upheld the decision of its various vetting committees in the regions to suspend a number of aspirants for Saturday’s parliamentary primaries.

Only three of the 75 suspended aspirants have been cleared to contest: Mr. Jude Atuahene (Asanti Akyem Central), Mr. Desmond De-Graft K. Paitoo (Gomoa East) and Madam Mary Awusi (Asanti Akyem North).

A statement issued by the party and signed by the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, said by the decision, all but the three aspirants have been disqualified from contesting the forthcoming primaries.

It said the Functional Executive Committee of the NDC took the decision after closely studying the report of over 75 petitions of parliamentary aspirants who were referred to the National Review Committee for further probing.
