NCCE urged to step up roles

Dr Yaw Baah expressed worry about the fact that the public still did not know the importance of the NCCE and therefore urged the public to appreciate the good works of NCCE.
Dr Baah asked the commission to practice what they teach by bringing decency in the running of their day to day official duty.
The NCCE, Commissioner Mrs Charlotte Osei, on her part, said that the NCCE had put a lot of things in place to help educate the public on how to vote and comport themselves during the elections.
She mentioned that the commission had been having series of meeting with the various political parties and the citizenry.
According to her, the commission had intensified voter education to help minimise spoilt ballot papers.
The commissioner revealed that her outfit had received 4.5 million cedis from the government to be used for their election expenses.
Out of the money, the commissioner said they had purchased 50 pick ups for the regional and district offices, 50 motor bikes and live jacket to help the staff before , during and after the December polls.
Mrs Osei said that the commission was not going to change the provident fund scheme initiated by the management of the company, explaining that it was going to help them in their retirement stage.
