MP presents vehicle to hospital

Member of Parliament (MP) for the Subin Constituency in Kumasi, Mr  Isaac Osei, has presented a Nissan double-cabin pickup worth GH¢58,000 to the Maternal and Child Health Hospital, known as Children’s Hospital, in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

According to Mr Osei, the donation was made in response to an appeal made by the hospital’s authority to promote and enhance the outreach health care service in the region.

He said the Nissan pickup was purchased from  the MP’s share of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Fund to support the hospital with a needed logistic to enhance health care service at the hospital.

He disclosed that the hospital, which was the leading children’s hospital in the region, needed urgent attention from the government, philanthropists and all well-meaning Ghanaians to deliver effective health care service.

He said one of his major concerns and objectives was to promote and support the development of  quality health care delivery  and education within his constituency, and assured them  of his support to  improve conditions at the Eye Clinic of the hospital.

In his address, Dr Kwasi Yeboah Awudzi, Kumasi Metro Director of Health of the Ghana Health Service, expressed his appreciation to Mr  Osei for his commitment to the development of health care delivery at the hospital.

He said the hospital was  longing  for such logistics to boost outreach programmes, as well as to facilitate referral cases from the hospital to the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital (KATH) for emergency care.

He said the hospital, which had now improved over the years with increasing number of patients, was operating without an  up-to-date theatre, and, therefore, called on the government and other international development partners to support the hospital with  modern logistics to  boost health care delivery at the hospital.
