Mike Eghan Jnr is PPP Greater Accra Regional Chairman
Mr Mike Eghan Jnr has been elected the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP).

At the party’s regional congress in Accra on Saturday, a total of 19 persons contested for 12 elective positions. This led to a keen contest for the positions of organiser, vice chairman, secretary and women’s organiser.
The vice-chairman position went to Mr Solomon Osei Fosu, who polled 404 votes while Mr Bernard Twum Acheampong got 129 votes.
Three aspirants
The secretary position was contested by three aspirants, with Linda Sey winning the slot with 363 votes. Mr Mantey Emmanuel Felix and Mr Robert Ekow Arko got 117 votes and 53 votes respectively.
The assistant secretary went to Abubakar Abdul Rahman Ramzy, who was elected unopposed.
Mr David Nkrumah and John Teye were elected unopposed as treasurer and assistant treasurer respectively.
Three people contested for regional organiser. Casmire Nii Okine Mensah got elected with 219 votes; Mr Eugene Nana Afari Gyamfi garnered 114 and Ishmael Kabore Ahmed 201.
Mr Marshal Dugbartey was elected unopposed as assistant organiser.
Women’s Organiser
The women’s organiser position went to Koi Larbi Kowah, who polled 451 votes as against Ampah Adjoa Akyenba, who polled 86.
The assistant women’s organiser position was taken by Emmanuella Antwi, who was elected unopposed.
Mr Reliwanu Tanko was also elected unopposed as youth organiser while Elvis Adu went unopposed as assistant youth organiser.
Education secretary
Mr Seth Osmond Nii Kwetia Hammond was elected unopposed as the education secretary.
The event was graced by the National Chairman, Nii Allotey Brew Hammond, and the 2012 running mate and current Executive Director of the party, Ms Eva Lokko.
Other PPP personalities who were present included Divine Nkrumah, William Doworkpor, Kofi Asamoah-Siaw, Murtalla Mohammed, Hajia Issah Addisia, Mike Eghan Senior, Ladi Nylander and Berlinda Bulley.
