The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Manhyia-South constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, has asked the public to make themselves available for the ongoing 2021 Population and Housing Census (PHC).

He said the PHC was an important exercise that the Manhyia-South people could not afford avoid.

The 2021 Population and Housing Census (PHC) began across the country on Sunday, June 27, 2021.

The exercise, which will run till July 11, 2021, is meant to generate national data that will be used for decision-making and planning for the development of the country and its citizens.

Dr. Prempeh, in his message said: “We have to take the exercise serious and provide the officials with the needed information, because, it is through such information that various development processes can be planned.’’

“The Census Officials are not out there for any ultra-motive purpose but to perform that all-important assignment, so let us all give them the maximum support,” he said.

He said: “The exercise was in the interest of Ghana and the people of Ghana, and not for any individual or organisation, so we must all participate.’’

Dr. Prempeh said: “The good people of Manhyia-South are known to be civil and patriotic and, we must maintain the status quo during the census exercise by participating fully.’’
