Mahama appoints more Ministers; Acquinas Quansah now Central Regional Minister

President John Mahama has announced further changes in his administration with the nomination of Mr Aquinas Quansah, a Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, as the new Central Regional Minister.

Mr Quansah takes over from Mr E.K.T. Addo whose next portfolio was not mentioned.

The President has also, in accordance with Article 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution, nominated the following as deputy ministers of state.

Mrs Mona Quartey, Ministry of Finance; Mrs Dela Sowah, MP for Kpando, Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Protection, and Dr Victor Asare Bampoe, Ministry of Health.

Dr Bampoe works with the Global Fund for AIDS and TB and is based in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to a statement from the Flagstaff House,  the following deputy ministers of state have also been reassigned as part of the ongoing changes in government.

A Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, is now the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry; Mr John Alexander Ackon, the Deputy Minister of Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs, is now the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister. 

Other deputy ministers who have been reassigned are Dr Alfred Tia Sugri, who has been moved from the Health Ministry to the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology & Innovation as a Deputy Minister, while Mr Ebenezer Okletey Terlarbi has been moved from the Ministry of Defence to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources as a Deputy Minister. 

The rest are Mrs Benita Sena Okity–Duah, a Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, is now a Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, while Dr Musheibu Mohammed-Alfa, a Deputy Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, is now the Deputy Upper West Regional Minister.
