Let’s use Tamale congress as big family gathering - Asabee

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party, Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has urged members, supporters and sympathisers of the NPP to use the upcoming national delegates’ congress as a rallying point to unite the party for victory in 2016.

In the view of the former Minister of Information under the Kufuor administration, “Tamale must be a God-scented gathering for divine blessing, with a focus on unifying the party.”

In an interview, he said, “we must do away with all manner of intolerance and division and rather build bridges across all shades of opinions within the party.”

He called on the delegates to honour Tamale and its environs with a good congress to signify that the NPP’s forward march to victory in 2016 began in Tamale, where the erstwhile Northern People’s Party originated.

“Let’s go to Tamale as a big family and have a real family atmosphere where we radiate confidence. Let us come together as a family and portray brotherliness.

“We must show an NPP that is hungry, thirsty and focussed on winning political power to serve Ghanaians.

“We have done it before because we have experienced hands and the capacity to deliver,” he told the delegates.

Concerning his expectation, Mr Asamoah Boateng urged the delegates to look for inspiring leaders with new ideas, vision, foresight and those prepared to rally people for victory.

He said the delegates should not be influenced by money, saying “If it is money, NDC can pay better.”

He said in times like this, the focus was victory for Election 2016, and delegates should rally around new ideas, concepts and things that were visionary.
