Let's ensure peaceful primaries - Frimpomaa Dwumah to NPP

The Managing Director of SIC Life Savings and Loans, Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, has appealed to all contestants and electorates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ensure peaceful primaries in the constituencies the party is holding elections tomorrow, Saturday, June 20.

The NPP is holding its parliamentary primaries in 100 constituencies across the country. However, candidates in 65 constituencies will go unopposed.

Due to the coronavirus disease and the need to observe social distancing, the NPP has decided that each delegate should vote in their electoral area.

In a statement, Madam Dwumah extended her goodwill message to all contestants and electorates, particularly those in the Sunyani West Constituency in the Bono region.

She said after the primaries there was going to be a bigger contest ahead of the party which the party needed the support of all party members and therefore there was the need for everyone to work to promote and maintain unity in the party before, during and after the primaries.

“Let us also remind ourselves that as we vote on Saturday, we would adhere to all strict preventive measures and protocols against the spread of the deadly COVID-19 Pandemic,” she said.

She added “Let us keep to the strict social distancing rules, wash our hands and sanitize our hands frequently, and let's all stay safe.”
