Kwabena Donkor wins Pru East NDC primary

The Minister of Power Dr Kwabena Donkor has won another bid to contest the Pru East seat during the 2016 general elections.

He won the Pru East NDC Primary by thrashing his only challenger, Musah Fuseini by 3,938 to 1,130. One hundred and thirty six ballots were rejected.

Dr Kwabena Donkor was the only minister in the Brong Ahafo Region who was challenged during the NDC primaries.

All the sitting MPs in the region with the exception of Dr Donkor, Kwame Twumasi Ampofo (Sene West) and Adjei Mensah (Techiman South) had no contenders.

No MP lost his or her seat in the region.

In the Sene West Constituency, incumbent MP Mr Kwame Twumasi Ampofo defeated former MP Felix Twumasi-Appiah by 3,349 votes to 2,032.

In the Asutifi Constituency, the District Chief Executive, Mr Eric Addae defeated three other contestants with 1,216 votes.

The other three candidates, Jacob B. Ntim Adjei, Owusu Nkrumah and Gabriel Adu-Bonsu had 329, 673 and 1,193 respectively.

In the Jaman South Constituency, Osahene Kojo Boakye Djan won another bid to contest the 2016 gereral elections.

He polled 949 votes as against 833 votes obtained by the DCE, Madam Dora Ama Tamea, Alfred Amponsah, 832 and Ahmed Shams Dinu, 643.

John Kwame Adu Jack won the Dormaa Central contest with 2,162 votes.

The other two candidates, Kwame Agyenim Boateng and Gordon Asubonteng had 944 and 1,880 votes respectively.
