Joseph Esibu has been elected Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region, defeating incumbent Percy Dennis in the party’s regional executive elections.
Esibu secured 278 votes, whileDennis polled 161 votes.
Kojo Halm was also elected First Vice Chairman after obtaining 271 votes against K. K. Bondzi, who polled 167 votes.
For the Second Vice Chairman position, Meshack Kweku Amoafo emerged winner with 220 votes, defeating Samuel Ghartey, who obtained 120 votes, and Betty Adwoa Nyantakyiwaa, who polled 97 votes.
The incumbent Regional Secretary, Takyi Mensah, retained his position with 283 votes, defeating Armstrong Esaah, who polled 157 votes.
Charles Odoom, the incumbent Assistant Secretary, also retained his position with 257 votes, while Eunice Darkor obtained 178 votes.
In the contest for Regional Organiser, incumbent Anthony Sackey secured a decisive victory with 333 votes against Anthoney Appiah, who polled 72 votes.
Incumbent Regional Treasurer Francis Asare retained his position with 244 votes, defeating Mustapha Mohammed, who obtained 196 votes.
For the Regional Youth Organiser position, Odeneho Kwakye Appiah emerged winner with 189 votes. Lawrence Edutuah Essiaw polled 131 votes, while David Essandoh obtained 118 votes.
Agyeman Asiedu was elected Regional Communication Director with 233 votes, defeating incumbent Isaac Mensah, who polled 118 votes, and Noah Osei Assenso, who obtained 85 votes.
The incumbent Regional Women’s Organiser, Charlotte Adwo Antwi, retained her position with 302 votes, defeating Carolyn Aboagye, who polled 136 votes.
In the Nasara Coordinator contest, King Dgagada emerged winner with 207 votes, followed by Semila Kabore with 161 votes, while incumbent Abubakar Osman obtained 70 votes.
The results give the newly elected regional executives the responsibility of leading the NPP’s organisational activities in the Central Region and strengthening the party’s structures at the regional and grassroots levels.
