Inculcate sense of unity in national endeavours - Appiah-Pinkrah

One thousand school children from the Akrofuom Circuit and the Akrofuom Senior High Technical School, as well as 150 workers of non-governmental organisations, market women and small scale miners (popularly known as ‘galamsey') took part in the anniversary. The schools included R/C Primary and JHS, Methodist Primary and JHS, Catholic Primary A&B and JHS, Okyerekrom D/A, Harvard Preparatory, Faithful International, Teacher Ankrah International School and Bethany International School.

Mr Appiah-Pinkrah stressed the need for all to bury their differences and work in unison and as a people with a common destiny towards socio-economic growth.

He said it was long overdue for the Akrofuom Constituency to be elevated to a district, and urged all constituents to come together to plan a pragmatic strategy to win such a feat.

Mr Appiah-Pinkrah further noted that the forefathers fought for independence through toil and sweat and, therefore, urged all to ensure that "we leave a legacy for posterity,” saying “we must provide the right type of training and guidance to the children, who are the future leaders, so that they can take over from the aged without blemish.”

The MP advised the school children to take their studies seriously to enable them to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for the rapid socio-economic development of the country.
