He said the secret of his success was his visibility and constant interaction with his constituents, adding that “I am always around with them in their joy and sorrow and always make sure that I assist to solve their challenges.”

Towards their challenges, Mr Ofori said he had used the various funds at his disposal, such as the MP’s Common Fund, to support them, especially women in agriculture and trading, health and education.

He said in good faith, he was ready to cooperate with his other contestants, most of whom had congratulated him after losing the elections, to ensure the development of the area and success of the NDC’s “Better Ghana Agenda.”

“There should be no teasing or taunting since that will arouse emotions. which might lead to conflict. We should remember that as a beacon of democracy in Africa, we should go about the elections in a very peaceful manner,” the elated MP Ofori said.

He assured all that he was the MP for the Akan Constituency and not for only the NDC in the area and called for the cooperation of all, regardless of their party affiliation, for the rapid development of the constituency and the district.

The MP further called on the people to eschew acrimony and bitter feeling and rather channel their energies to offer better suggestions with the view to strengthening the decentralisation process and environmental problems in the district.

Mr Ofori reaffirmed his commitment to explore all avenues and opportunities to promote sporting activities in the constituency, adding that it is the collective responsibility of all to share a healthy lifestyle and protect the environment for the mutual benefit of all.
