I will work to regain lost seats

The newly elected Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Party (NDC), Mr Ebenezer Kojo Tei Addo, has pledged to unite the rank and file of the party for victory in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.

He said the party would collaborate with traditional and opinion leaders in the region in order to ensure victory for the party in the general election.

“I have been elected at a time when most of our seats have been taken away by the New Patriotic Party (NPP). I will work with traditional leaders and some prominent business men and women to bring all on board to bring victory to the party”, he said.

Mood for change

In an interview with the Daily Graphic at Elmina last Friday, Mr Addo said the mood for change was rife to the advantage of the NDC.

“The collapse of the seven banks and the retrenchment of hundreds of workers is needless. There could have been a better way to deal with the situation”, he said.

On education, he said the educational sector and the economy were in a total mess due to the rushed policies that had been implemented under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government.

He said the government would not have been confused about how to implement the free Senior High School (SHS) policy if it had taken its time “to progressively implement a rather laudable policy.”

“Nobody has forced them to rush in implementing the SHS policy. The NPP is rather pushing the country into crisis. When we (NDC) win power we will have a herculean task to bring things to normal”, he stated.

Branches

Commenting on some of the strategies that would bring victory to the NDC, Mr Addo said under his tenure the NDC in the region would undertake a vigorous campaign to make all the 2,482 branches in the region active and vibrant.
